How to create a digital signature

Chances are you are looking to learn how to create an electronic signature rather than a digital signature, for, being an equivalent of an ink signature, the former is the most used and convenient means of paperless signing of documents.

To better understand the difference between a digital signature and an electronic signature, please refer to our article "What is a digital signature?".

Below we describe the process of creating an eSignature in KeepSolid Sign on all supported platforms.

Before doing the following, you need to sign in to KeepSolid Sign using your ID. If you don’t have the app yet, you can download it here.

Windows and macOS

  1. Open the app and go to the “My signature” tab.
  2. Here can either draw your signature using a touchpad or a mouse, or import its scanned image or a photo (for best results, use black ink and white paper). Choose what’s comfortable for you.

iOS and Android

  1. In the account section, open “My signature” menu.
  2. Draw a signature using a set of tools offered, or import a scanned image of it or take its picture written on paper (for best results, use black ink and white paper).

Now you can insert your signature in PDF documents and thus e-sign documents online. For a detailed step-by-step guide to that, read our article “Signing a PDF-document”.

With paperless office solutions getting increasingly more popular, we encourage you, if you haven’t yet, to consider making steps away from traditional paperwork. KeepSolid Sign creates an environment for efficient and comprehensive document flow, offering secure document archive, template creation, and other tools for convenient document management.
